September- Starting Vehicle Rescue Modules
October- Ending Vehicle Rescue Modules and Testing
November thru December- MCTO (Managing Company Tactical
Operations: Tactics, Review, Decision Making, Preparation, and Simulation)

Introduction to Fire Officership

Intro to Fire Officership will give the student a basic overview of fire officers responsibilities, personnel issues,
fireground operations, and the development of a sound and effective administrative and fire ground
organizational structure.
This is an introductory class; the program does not prepare the student for Fire Officer Certification.
Recommended Pre-requisite: Essentials of Firefighting or equivalent
This program provides valuable insight into fire department management from both the tactical and
administrative officers’ viewpoints.

The Shohola Township Volunteer Fire & Rescue along with the
Pennsylvania Bureau of Forestry is pleased to announce that it will be
hosting the following courses:
S-130 Wildland Firefighter
S-190 Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior
These two courses are being held by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Forestry (DCNR), and will prove to be an asset to anyone fighting wildland fires.
The start date will be Tuesday, January 31st 2012, and run every Tuesday and Thursday until February 28th. Start time will be at 1830hrs. The field exercise portion of the training will be March 3rd, weather permitting.
Back-up date will be March 10th. The courses will be held at the Shohola Township Fire Station #1 on Rt.434. A head count is required, so a preregistration deadline is being imposed. That deadline is Friday, January 20th 2012. Please keep in mind that these two courses are given by the Bureau only once a year.
